Pilots

A 90-day pilot that shows what changed

A pilot proves the model in one place: trusted local distribution, practical household action and before-and-after measurement.

The 90-day plan

Days 0 to 30

Design

  • Name the sponsor and area
  • Choose channels and groups of residents
  • Cost print and digital scope
  • Agree the baseline and data plan

Gate 1: scope and sponsor

Days 31 to 60

Deliver

  • Co-brand and produce the pack
  • Launch through trusted local channels
  • Run the 30-day challenge
  • Track participation

Gate 2: launch readiness

Days 61 to 90

Prove

  • Repeat the readiness check
  • Analyse actions and equity gaps
  • Publish a local case study
  • Decide: scale, stop or adapt

Gate 3: evidence and scale decision

What we measure

  • Day 0Baseline. What plans, supplies and backups do households have today?
  • Day 30Activation. Who started the check, completed a plan or took part in the challenge?
  • Day 90Outcome. What changed, where, and where do gaps remain?
  • Plan
  • Kit
  • Backup
  • Support
  • Confidence

Pilot integrity

Accessible by default

Easy Read, large print, translated and audio options where local need justifies them.

Minimum data

Anonymous or pseudonymous responses. We collect only what the evaluation needs.

Safe referrals

No list of vulnerable households, ever. Consent-based links to existing support.

Independent learning

Measures agreed before launch; aggregate results published with their limitations.

Cohort sponsorsUtilities, insurers or employers who fund packs for particular groups.
Distribution partnersSchools, GP practices, libraries, hubs, charities and employers.
EvaluatorAn independent partner, such as a university, who analyses and publishes results.
PrepareNowContent, platform, delivery support and reporting.

See it working

Try the readiness check that residents start with, and see an example local page of the kind each pilot area gets. The full PrepareNow app, with a family plan builder, reminders and follow-up check-ins, is in development for pilots.
